As the dow drops below 7,000 for the first time since 1997, here are the culinary articles of the day.

The Fat Duck, from BBC NEWS, CLOED for food scare o Tuesday and and may not reopen until March 4. 

The NIH News release on the Heart-Healthy, reduce calorie Diets promote long-term weight loss. This was reported on Wednesday, but here is the real document statement.

Food magazines are dropping the truffles for button mushrooms. Changes in the economy are pushing cheaper recipes and food/ time saving ideas. From the NYT

Flo Braker’s Lemon Mousse– From SFGATE. This is a good recipe for this time of the year especially if you have a Meyer lemon tree in your backyard. If you do not have a Meyer lemon tree, get one if they grow in your area. Great flavors. 

A 20 year over night success. Chef José Andrés as described in the WSJ. I have worked with Chef Andrés a couple times at Greystone and I am always impressed with his energy and passion. He is a good guy and very busy. Public Relations can make or break a Chef and he has a great feel for this side of the trade.
